Ethena USDe Launches $1B Credit Facility With FalconX

Ethena USDe (USDe) Editor: Eugene Serbin

cryptonexa.com reports that Ethena has activated a $1 billion institutional credit facility structured with prime broker FalconX. This new structure routes assets backing USDe into overcollateralized loans for institutional borrowers via a Cayman Islands segregated portfolio SPV. FalconX manages the collateral and services the loans, while Ethena holds a first-priority security interest over all assets within the SPV.

The deal introduces institutional lending as an explicit return source alongside USDe’s existing delta-neutral derivatives book. Craig Birchall, Head of Credit at FalconX, stated that institutional credit is evolving toward deeply integrated, secure capital structures. USDe currently has a market cap of roughly $4 billion, down from a peak near $14 billion before the October 2025 leverage unwind.

Ethena Labs previously described USDe as minted by offshore institutional firms and high-net-worth individuals on a private basis. FalconX has executed over $2.5 trillion in cumulative trading volume and this marks its second structured credit move in 2026. The facility can finance institutional trading strategies, corporate treasury management, and payments. Neither company disclosed specific loan terms, borrower identities, or the initial capital deployed.

USDe is trading at $1.00 with a 1-hour buy ratio of 33.8%, which is significantly higher than the 1.1% buy ratio over the past 4 hours. This sharp drop in the 4-hour buy ratio indicates that buying pressure is fading relative to selling pressure in the short term. The 24-hour buy ratio sits at 15.9%, showing that over the last day, buyers were active for only 15.9% of the time. Volume delta is negative across all timeframes, with -$100,271 in the last hour and -$111,235 over four hours. A negative volume delta means that sell volume has exceeded buy volume during these periods. Spot volume for the last 24 hours was $145,719, with a total CVD of -$1,477,876 at the close.

The latest daily buy ratio of 51.8% sits at the 56th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 48.5% - ordinary for this coin.

Over the preceding week, the average buy ratio was 55.3%, making today’s 24-hour ratio of 15.9% unusually low. The latest day’s buy ratio is 39.4 percentage points below the weekly average, signaling a distinct shift away from net buying. Volume over the last day was only 0.11 times the weekly average, indicating a substantial drop in trading activity. While the week saw net buying on 4 of 7 days, today’s metrics show a clear deviation from that pattern. The 8-day volume delta was positive at $520,803, contrasting with today’s negative flow. This suggests that while the week was generally constructive, the current session is an unusual day of reduced participation and selling pressure.
