XRP Hovers Near $1.50 Ahead of Trump Announcement

XRP (XRP) Editor: Eugene Serbin

CoinGape.com reports that XRP traded near $1.50 on September 28 as the broader crypto market experienced a 1.31% pullback to $2.85 trillion. Bitcoin and Ethereum also declined, trading near $83,300 and $2,676 respectively, while XRP retreated from its weekly peak of $1.65. President Donald Trump is scheduled to make an announcement from the Oval Office at 2 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday regarding a $15 billion steel mill project in Iowa.

Although the project involves Mesabi Metallics and creates jobs, it has no direct connection to cryptocurrency regulation, though policy speculation may still influence prices. XRP faces an initial technical hurdle at $1.50, with a recovery above $1.53 potentially targeting the $1.58 to $1.60 area. Support is located around $1.47, with a break below that level exposing $1.40.

The five U.S. spot XRP funds attracted $22.65 million on September 25, with Bitwise leading inflows at $18.39 million. Despite these inflows, all five funds saw their shares fall by between 4.12% and 5.22% on that day. Combined net inflows since launch have reached $1.79 billion, with Bitwise alone attracting $677.29 million. The token’s immediate direction appears tied to market weakness and its own technical levels rather than the presidential event.
