XRP Ledger Surpasses Ethereum in Tokenized Commodity Growth

XRP (XRP) Editor: Eugene Serbin

u.today reports that the XRP Ledger has officially overtaken Ethereum as the leading network for tokenized commodity market capitalization. Data from Token Terminal and the RWA Foundation shows XRPL attracted $2.2 billion in net capital inflows for tokenized commodities since the start of 2026. Ethereum secured second place with $1.6 billion in inflows during the same period.

Other networks lagged significantly, with Avalanche ranking third at $334.5 million and BNB Chain fourth at $57.5 million. This shift is attributed to XRPL's protocol-level tokenization, which offers near-zero transaction costs and 3–5 second settlement times. The primary driver was the energy sector, specifically Justoken's launch of tokenized electricity-generation contracts named JMWH.

Major players like Franklin Templeton, Ondo Finance, and DAMAC are also adopting XRPL infrastructure for various real-world assets. Despite this commodity lead, Ethereum maintains dominance in total RWA value due to U.S. government bonds. Industrial capital has clearly preferred Ripple-backed technology for physical goods and commodities.
