Schwartz says XRP can flip Bitcoin as ETFs see outflows

XRP (XRP) Editor: Eugene Serbin

news.bitcoin.com reports that ex-Ripple CTO David Schwartz believes XRP could surpass Bitcoin in market capitalization. Schwartz, who stepped back from daily duties at the end of 2025, stated he thinks it would happen as XRP grows faster than Bitcoin. He clarified that this scenario would likely occur during a broader expansion where all digital assets succeed, rather than one asset cannibalizing another.

Currently, Bitcoin trades near $77,269 with a market cap of $1.55 trillion, while XRP is priced at $1.34 with a value of roughly $85 billion. To match Bitcoin’s current market cap, XRP would need to reach approximately $24.70 based on its circulating supply of 62.88 billion tokens. Schwartz’s comment was a personal view without a specific valuation target or date.

The report also noted that claims of a multi-trillion dollar total cap target were identified as false. Additionally, U.S. Bitcoin ETFs recorded $120.24 million in net outflows on Wednesday. This outflow extended a losing streak for the funds to a second consecutive session.
