ETH drops 3.5% as macro pressure hits altcoins harder than Bitcoin

Ethereum (ETH) Editor: Eugene Serbin

Techbullion.com reports that Ethereum fell approximately 3.5% toward $2,610 on October 7, outpacing Bitcoin’s 1.5% decline to $84,200. Rising oil prices and a firmer dollar weighed on risk assets, causing higher-beta crypto assets to suffer sharper selloffs. Despite this volatility, Ethereum retains deep DeFi ecosystem foundations and extensive developer activity.

Meanwhile, Remittix is approaching its $0.46 final presale tier ahead of its November 24 RTX debut. The project has already released wallet and Markets products, with 1,000 existing holders invited to test the PayFi feature. Remittix reports over 10,000 iOS wallet downloads and more than $50 million in cumulative Markets trading volume.

The platform aims to turn supported crypto into fiat delivered through compatible banking routes for international transfers. Remittix has raised over $32 million from more than 40,000 participants toward a $36 million cap. The token is intended for settlement and staking roles as the project seeks to build practical demand before exchange listing.

Whalio’s spot data shows ETH trading at $2,574.14 with a 24-hour buy ratio of 40.6%, indicating that sellers dominated the session. Short-term pressure remains heavy, with the 1-hour buy ratio at 42.7% and the 4-hour ratio dropping further to 38.0%. Volume deltas confirm this bearish sentiment, showing a net outflow of $2.95 million in the last hour and $18.56 million over four hours. Over the full day, the net volume delta reached -$212.97 million, with cumulative selling pressure (CVD) closing at -$193.21 million. Buyers were scarce, with net buying occurring in only 3 of the 24 hours. This flow suggests that immediate buying interest is fading rather than building as the day progressed.

The latest daily buy ratio of 46.8% sits at the 16th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 49.5% - weaker buying than most days.
