Nubank launches Nu Global with USDC and EURC for borderless payments
Cryptobriefing.com reports that Nubank has launched Nu Global, a multi-currency account converting deposits into Circle’s USDC and EURC stablecoins. The Brazilian fintech giant serves over 140 million customers and uses these stablecoins for fee-free transfers across 35+ countries. The product went live on September 10, targeting Europe and Latin America while marking Nubank’s entry into the US market.
Users deposit local currency which converts to USDC for dollar balances and EURC for euros, earning 3.50% and 2.20% APY respectively. A virtual Mastercard allows global spending from stablecoin balances without manual conversion. The account also supports trading Bitcoin and Ethereum alongside stablecoin positions.
This expands on NuCrypto, Nubank’s previous Brazil-based crypto service, into a fully integrated international banking product. Nubank partners with FDIC-insured Lead Bank while pursuing a national bank charter approved in January 2026. CEO David Vélez frames the product around “borderless lives” for people with cross-border financial obligations. Initial rollout focuses on Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and the US, representing high-volume remittance corridors.
How the market reacted
Whalio's own Binance spot order flow for USDC, measured when this story was written up on 10 September 2026. Not the outlet's figures.
USDC trades at $1.00 with a 1-hour buy ratio of 54.1%, indicating a short-term surge in buying pressure compared to the 50.2% 24-hour average. The 4-hour buy ratio sits at 51.0%, suggesting that immediate buying momentum is stronger than the broader daily trend. Volume delta shows +$12,722,210 in the last hour and +$16,982,287 over four hours, reflecting active net inflows. However, the 24-hour CVD remains negative at -$52,988,442, meaning net selling pressure has dominated the full day despite recent buying. Spot volume reached $3,087,360,344 with 567,593 trades in 24 hours. Buying pressure appears to be building in the immediate term after a day of net selling.
The latest daily buy ratio of 50.2% sits at the 73rd percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 48.4% - stronger buying than most days.
Was that an ordinary day?
The same Binance spot measurements for USDC, averaged over the days leading up to the story.
The current 1-hour buy ratio of 54.1% is notably higher than the 7-day average of 49.6%, showing a deviation from recent norms. Volume is 1.12x the average, indicating elevated activity compared to the preceding week. Only 2 of the last 7 days saw net buying, making this a relatively unusual day for accumulation. The 8-day volume delta total was -$142,739,201, contrasting with the positive short-term deltas. This suggests a potential shift from the prevailing weekly selling trend to short-term buying interest.
