ARKVX Tokenized on Ethereum as Securitize Launches $500 Minimum Fund

Ethereum (ETH) Editor: Eugene Serbin

startupfortune.com reports that ARK Invest and Securitize have tokenized the ARK Venture Fund (ARKVX) on Ethereum, allowing eligible investors to buy in with as little as $500 in USDC. This move marks the first ARK fund brought onchain, with tokens issued under Securitize's DS Protocol replacing traditional brokerage statements. The fund holds stakes in major private companies including SpaceX at 7.54%, Kalasi at 5.81%, and Anthropic at 3.86%, offering retail investors access to assets usually reserved for venture capitalists.

Despite the blockchain launch, secondary trading remains limited because shares are not listed on a securities exchange and liquidity relies on quarterly repurchase offers. Transfers are restricted to whitelisted wallets, and redemptions are tied to repurchase offers expected at 5% of outstanding shares, with proration if oversubscribed. Securitize went public in July 2026 at a $1.25 billion valuation and counts BlackRock and Morgan Stanley among its backers.

ARK took a strategic stake in Securitize in October 2025, making this launch a payoff of that earlier bet rather than a proof-of-concept. The innovation lies in simplifying the buying process and settling subscriptions in code, even if the fund cannot be traded around the clock. This infrastructure allows for easier eligibility verification and cheaper operations without fundamentally unlocking secondary market liquidity.

ETH is trading at $2,691.61 with a 24-hour buy ratio of 47.8%, indicating that buying pressure is fading compared to the stronger 1-hour ratio of 44.9% and 4-hour ratio of 43.3%. The volume delta shows a net outflow of -$27,207,737 over the last day, meaning more capital is leaving the spot market than entering it. A buy ratio below 50% signifies that sellers are dominating the volume, which aligns with the negative volume delta showing net selling pressure. Over the past hour, the volume delta is -$458,504, suggesting that short-term selling intensity is lower than the daily average but still present. The 24-hour close CVD is -$29,275,577, confirming that cumulative selling has outweighed buying throughout the day.

The latest daily buy ratio of 46.8% sits at the 16th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 49.5% - weaker buying than most days.

Over the preceding week, the 7-day average buy ratio was 50.4%, meaning today's 24-hour ratio of 47.8% is 2.6 percentage points below the weekly norm. Volume is currently at 0.70x the weekly average, indicating that trading activity is significantly lighter than usual for this coin. While the price has risen 3.0% over eight days, the current day shows less buying interest than the typical weekly baseline. This suggests that while the broader trend has been positive, today's trading session is quieter and more seller-heavy than the average day in the recent past.
