ETH ETF inflows and whale accumulation support September bullish outlook

Ethereum (ETH) Editor: Eugene Serbin

bitcoinethereumnews.com reports that Ethereum could post back-to-back monthly gains for the first time if it closes September in positive territory. The asset recently surged 28% in August, briefly climbing above $2,550 before settling around $2,380. SoSoValue data indicates spot ETH ETFs recorded 12 consecutive days of inflows, attracting over $1.5 billion in capital.

Exchange balances dropped to approximately 14.9 million ETH, the lowest level since summer 2016, signaling reduced immediate selling pressure. X user CW noted that large investors continued accumulating in the current price range. Arkham identified mysterious participants purchasing more than $100 million in ETH.

BitMine added 53,501 ETH over the past week, bringing its total to 5,901,112 coins. This marks the 65th consecutive week of acquisitions for BitMine, which aims to hold 5% of the total supply. Despite these signals, September has historically been weak, with prices ending in the red seven out of 11 times.

This contrasts with the 4-hour buy ratio of 49.6% and the 24-hour ratio of 48.6%, suggesting that recent buying is fading over longer timeframes. The 1-hour volume delta is positive at $1,491,719, while the 24-hour delta is negative at -$18,896,159, showing that cumulative selling has outweighed buying over the day.
