Ethereum ETFs Outpace Bitcoin ETFs in 2026 Inflow Growth

Ethereum (ETH) Editor: Eugene Serbin

newsy-today.com reports that U.S. spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds attracted approximately $1.5 billion in 2026 inflows, surpassing the $985 million pulled into spot Bitcoin funds. Despite this higher annual inflow rate, Bitcoin ETFs maintain a total asset value of $109 billion, which is roughly six times the $18 billion managed by Ethereum funds. Bitcoin’s annual flow figure masks a third-quarter reversal, where funds recorded $6.3 billion in net inflows following $5 billion in outflows during the first half of the year.

Ethereum funds began trading in July 2024, about six months after Bitcoin products launched in January 2024. At the current pace, closing the cumulative gap would take more than 80 years. Price appreciation has contributed to the disparity, with Bitcoin funds gaining $52 billion compared to Ethereum’s $4 billion.

Both asset classes declined about 15% from their mid-January 2026 peaks. On September 29, Ethereum funds saw $2.81 million in net outflows, ending a seven-day streak that had brought in $850.8 million. BlackRock’s ETHA recorded the largest single-day outflow of $8.94 million, while Grayscale’s Ethereum Mini Trust offset the loss with $12.83 million in inflows. On October 1, Ether ETFs posted total net outflows of $55.4 million, with Fidelity’s FETH leading redemptions at $23.5 million.

Whalio’s Binance spot data shows Ethereum trading at $2,687.23 with a 24-hour buy ratio of 55.7%, indicating that buyers are currently dominating the market over sellers. This buying pressure is building compared to the 1-hour reading of 40.9%, though the 4-hour ratio of 52.9% suggests a more balanced short-term dynamic. The volume delta reflects this shift, moving from a negative $1,922,192 in the last hour to a positive $24,050,482 over 24 hours. A positive volume delta means that the volume of trades executed at the ask price (buying) exceeds the volume executed at the bid price (selling). Consequently, the cumulative volume delta for the 24-hour close stands at +$17,822,507, confirming sustained net buying activity.

The latest daily buy ratio of 46.8% sits at the 16th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 49.5% - weaker buying than most days.

This buying activity contrasts with the preceding week, where the 7-day average buy ratio was 47.5%, making today’s 55.7% reading an unusual surge of 8.2 points above the norm. However, the current spot volume of $212,257,993 is only 0.30 times the weekly average, indicating significantly lower participation despite the higher buy ratio. Over the past eight days, the coin experienced a net volume delta of -$223,556,899, with net buying occurring on just one of the seven days. This suggests that while today’s momentum is strong relative to the immediate past hour, it is occurring on much lower volume than the weekly average typically sees.
