Lido Introduces ValOS Framework to Standardize Ethereum Validator Operations

Ethereum (ETH) Editor: Eugene Serbin

crypto-economy.com reports that Lido has introduced ValOS, a community-driven reference framework designed to raise operational standards for Ethereum validators. Developed with funding from the Lido DAO through its grants arm, LEGO, the initiative aims to provide node operators with a common language and governance tools to mitigate risks in staking infrastructure. ValOS builds upon the work of DUCK, which previously produced practical resources like a Risk Framework and a Mitigation & Controls Library.

The new framework adds an organizational structure to transform these standards into a lasting, independently auditable reference. To encourage adoption, the Lido DAO will allocate $60,000 to the DUCK FLAP fund to cover up to 50% of assurance review costs for early operators. This financial support aims to lower economic barriers during the initial implementation phase.

The long-term goal is for ValOS to become an industry-wide reference supporting professional audits and benchmarks. As Ethereum staking attracts diverse participants, transparent standards are deemed essential for preserving network decentralization and security.

ETH is trading at $2,467.65, with the 1-hour buy ratio at 46.4% and the 4-hour ratio at 44.5%, both trailing the 24-hour average of 49.8%. This indicates that buying pressure is currently fading compared to the daily trend. The 1-hour volume delta is -$6,285,016, while the 4-hour delta sits at -$16,313,401, showing that sellers are dominating the recent flow. A negative volume delta means that more volume is occurring on sell-side trades than buy-side trades, pushing the price down. Over the last 24 hours, the cumulative volume delta closed at -$24,562,805, confirming sustained selling pressure across the day. Spot volume reached $649,538,839 with nearly 3 million trades, but the net flow remains negative.

The latest daily buy ratio of 46.8% sits at the 16th percentile of the last 322 days, against a median of 49.5% - weaker buying than most days.

Over the preceding week, the 7-day average buy ratio was 48.9%, meaning the current 24-hour ratio of 49.8% is slightly above the weekly norm by 0.9 points. However, the 24-hour volume of $649,538,839 is only 0.86x the weekly average, indicating a quieter day than usual. The coin has seen net buying on only 3 of the past 7 days, with an 8-day price change of -0.6%. The total volume delta for the week was -$146,691,791, showing that selling has been the dominant force over the longer term. This suggests that while today is marginally more bullish on ratio, the volume and weekly delta confirm a generally subdued and net-sold environment.
